After the intial invasion, some armies spread out to sieze as much land as possible, while others more cautious,
concentrated their forces on only the most valuable territories. The native inhabitants of Rhandar Minor, unused
to mechanized warfare after almost 500 years of peace, reeled under the onslaught. Only the mighty fortresses of
the mountain passes gave any indication that once the world had aspired to as great technological heights as the
dark age of technology. The native Rhandarians, long unused to war looked on in sullen shock as the various armies
plundered their land. Some of these armies claimed that their cause was just, and that they were here to save the
Rhandarians, others, more vile or perhaps more honest made no pretense over their plunder.

Sisters of the Revered Martyr

Inquisitor Bock stood alone at the top of a dune, his eyes narrowed from the desert sun. Nothing moved, yet he knew
that the enemy was out there, waiting. "Mother Superior Dahnait!, ready your troops!. We move to secure the frontier!"
The desert sand and sky were pristine no longer, the tracks of Rhino transports scored it and smoke from exhausts and jump
pack contrails raised a haze against even the fierce sun.
The Chaos Horde of Lord Sherman

Lord Sherman smiled. "The city is within our grasp. Soon its inhabitants will know the blessings of the Lords of Chaos.
With the long tracks of desert between us and the deluded daughters of the Ecleisarchy our first real threat lies to the
South. However, we will not seek it out as of yet. Rather, we shall wait and grow strong."
Celestial Lions Space Marines

The forces of the Celestial Lions took up key positions along the coast and among the resource rich valleys. While the locals
seemed in awe of them, they could detect a certain craftiness in the eyes of some. The marine's enhanced senses were hardly
required to spot the mountains in the distance, as the transport sped towards it's destination. "The true battle will be fought
there, but first we must sieze the city before the arch-rebels." The honour and glory that could acrue to the chapter if they
claimed this planet for the Emperor in the face of the various incursions was behind the thoughts of every marine. Veteran
Sergeants attempted to contain and direct this enthusiasm. "Honour and Glory are fine things, brothers, but more important
than these are our duty."
WAAAAAAGH Hackem

With a rumble of mighty engines, the warband split off into numerous raiding parties. "I claim
this 'ole planet in the name of Waagh Hackem. Take as much as you can boyz. Remember if you spots
anyone else with guts, you talk to me first. I decide whether we makes a deal, runz away to fight
tomorra or rip em. GOT IT?!?" "Yes, boss!" came the enthusiastic chorus; as he looked into the dust
coving the setting sun the old warboss chuckled to himself. Gonna be a good year.... he thought.
Imperial Guard

"Dig those trenches deep soldier!" barked the Sergeant. "We're surrounded on both sides by vile aliens
and traitors, and the Colonel wants us good and dug in, in case they get any ideas into their funny shaped
heads. "Careful with those mines Gunter! Rember old Travis? We still haven't found all the pieces!"
Eldar of Craftworld Zaitor

Not even over a millenia of occupation by the monkeigh's could completely destroy the beauty of this
world. "Created and seeded by our ancestors, in their time of greatness and folly, it shall yet again
be ours." intoned the guardian, himself a historian in his civillian life aboard the craftworld. "Our lord
orders our swift advance to the so called city of Phelemon, there we will further strengthen the host."
Black Guard Space Marines

"Sergeant Dario, you are to dig in and hold ground until new orders arrive", Veteran Nelander
spoke into the comm-link. He had just finished passing on Commander Enoch's battle commands to
the other units in the assault force. Some of the units were now two and three days distant
from their current location and not entirely happy to be holding ground when the enemy was nowhere
in sight. Nelander himself was excited, he waited for Enoch's final instructions which seemed to
indicate a special mission. It finally came through, "Nelander, follow my lead. We head to New Stutgard
now and need to be there by nightfall." He looked over at brother Velic and nodded. Velic pulled the
hatch closed on the Rhino and everyone buckled in. The driver kicked it into gear and they were off.
